According to Foxtons estate agents, one bedroom flats in this area go for in the region of £400,000.

However, the agency have explained that as this property has a 75ft garden and is a freehold, £450,000 is a reasonable price.

Warren McCann from Foxtons refuted claims that it was too small saying:  ‘space is there, it is just not a traditional layout.’

This is not the skinniest building in the county, that honour goes to a property known as ‘The Wedge’ on the Isle of Ayrshire just off the Scottish coast.

‘The Wedge’ has a 37-inch facade but does spread to 22ft wide at the back.
