‘All about that space': NASA interns create Meghan Trainor parody

A group of NASA interns have made a bid for pop stardom, after recording a parody of Meghan Trainor’s ‘All About That Bass’ – one of the best-selling songs of 2014.

In the viral video, the students can be seen busting a series of impressive dance moves at the Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas.

The newly adapted version of Trainor’s hit contains the appropriate chorus: ‘I’m all about that space, bout that space, space travel’.

The viral YouTube hit has been viewed almost a million times, and was written by student Sarah Schlieder, to honour the Orion spacecraft, which undertook its first unmanned test flight earlier this month.

A post on the video’s YouTube page reads: ‘Orion will serve as the exploration vehicle that will carry the crew to space, provide emergency abort capability, sustain the crew, and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities’.

NASA have planned a second unmanned Orion flight in 2018, before a manned mission in 2020 which aims to travel around the moon.

It is eventually hoped that an Orion mission will send astronauts to Mars after the year 2030.
