Apple are attempting to lure Android users to their products, after announcing that non-Apple devices can be traded instore for a new iPhone.

Under the new plan, customers will be able to go into any Apple store in the UK, US France, Canada, Italy and Germany and trade their phone in the Reuse and Recycle programme.

But while the initiative used to be exclusive to Apple products, computers and smartphones manufactured by Samsung, Microsoft and Blackberry have now been included.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has said that he sees the initiative as an opportunity to convince Android users to swap devices, but it won’t be a simple case of swapping phones.

Although customers will be given vouchers to buy an iPhone, iPad or a Mac, they won’t cover the whole cost of the product, and customers will have to play the surplus .
