Paul Cézanne’s Vue sur L’Estaque et Le Château d’If will be sold at the Impressionist & Modern evening sale at Christie’s London on February 4. The painting comes from the collection of Samuel Courtauld, founder of Courtauld Gallery and Institute of Art, who purchased the work in 1936, after which it remained in his private collection.

The painting was made circa 1883-85 during one of Cézanne’s last trips to the fishing port L’Estaque in Provence. It carries an £8-12 million ($12.5-18.7 million) estimate.
