DeepMind, Google X and more confirmed for WIRED 2014 (Wired UK)

Six more speakers have been confirmed to join the lineup for Wired’s headline event, held on 16-17
October.

Those joining the agenda for the two-day event include
artificial-intelligence expert Demis Hassabis, whose London-based
startup DeepMind Technologies was bought by Google in January.

As part of the Google Zeitgeist session at Wired 2014, Hassabis will be joined by Ben
Medlock, cofounder and chief technical officer of London-based
mobile app SwiftKey; Obi Felten of Google X, who works to get
“moonshots” ready for contact with the real world; Google’s
principal scientist Blaise Ag├╝era y Arcas, an expert on machine
learning on mobile devices; and Simon Wheatcroft, a blind
ultra-marathon runner who uses technology to reach new limits.

Mark Chapman, chief engineer on the Bloodhound Project with the British bid to travel at 1,000mph
on land, will also be appearing at both Wired 2014 and Wired Next
Generation
.

Agenda topics for the event include Decoding the body, Design
thinking, Technology without limits, Mind games, The investigators,
Education rethought, Culinary creativity, The storytellers,
Creating innovation and Driving the future.

Other hosted sessions include the Oslo Freedom Forum presents
and a special startup pitch competition — more details can be

WIRED 2014 will be held on October 16-17, 2014 at London’s
Tobacco Dock, with two days of thought provoking, disruptive and
