Evolution of a cartoon on new cartridge paper – Telegraph Blogs

BIG NEWS! Today I tried out a new paper to draw on. It’s been bugging me that my old paper didn’t quite ‘bleed’ enough, and the black ink line in particular was coming out too clean and hard. So here’s me testing the new one out:

Nice and textured.

Holds the ink very well. Enough grain to give the line character, but not so rough that it inhibits the nib.

Very pleased with the softer look. But how will it look on newsprint..?

And here we go. Colour Production proof out a copy for me as it would look in the paper.

(By the way, the paper is: Fabriano Artistico. Traditional white. 300gsm. CP (cold press)).
