Twenty-four thrill seekers are being rescued from the top of a rollercoaster in America.

Firefighters were called to the Six Flags theme park in Maryland after a fault occurred on the Joker’s Jinx.

Fire chief Marc Bashoor is tweeting photos of the rescue operation.

He said each rider is being secured in place before the safety restraints are released.

Then they will be put on the extendable ladder and brought back down to ground level.

Mr Bashoor added the process will be a ‘slow’ one.
