A mother has spoken about the moment she realised her son’s baby monitor had been hacked.
Megan Klaasen said that she noticed the camera was following her around the room and is now warning others to be aware of the practice.
The first time she noticed what was going on was when she put her three-month-old son Decker to bed.
Her first instinct was that the camera had been hacked and she tested her theory straight away by moving around.
One of the reasons she believes the hackers may have been successful is that her WiFi did not have a password.
Speaking to Fox and Friends she said: ‘I noticed the camera. It was pointed down at Decker and then I noticed it pointing up and then over towards me. And then it looked right at me.
‘I moved to the left a little bit and it followed me. And then I went to the room where our monitor device is and it followed me out of the room.’
She added that it took several days to feel safe in her own home and has now put passwords on her WiFi and the baby monitor.
