A good sense of humour is vital when you get married and plough your own furrow through life.
Not only did Hamish Grundy’s bride Alice travel to and from their wedding in a large John Deere tractor, he played the Wurzels on repeat in the cab.
Tractor-mad Hamish, 27, from Ledbury, Herefordshire, married Alice last Saturday and they belted out Combine Harvester and I Am A Cider Drinker en route to their reception in Malvern.
‘I loved it,’ said Mrs Grundy, 23. ‘The tractor looked fantastic and the best bit was travelling just the two of us from the church to the reception, listening to the Wurzels the whole way back.
‘We are both big fans. We were being overtaken in the tractor by our guests, because we were going so slowly.’
Mr Grundy, an agricultural engineer, grew up on a farm and has worked with tractors since he was a boy.
‘It was a wonderful day, and we were surrounded by family and friends and the tractor ride completed it perfectly,’ she added. They are honeymooning in Santorini – without the tractor.
