‘Happy b-day Wes’: Man’s tribute to his dead brother is the sweetest thing you’ll see all day

Touching man left his waitress in honour of his dead brother
This heartbreaking tribute to a man’s dead brother might just be the sweetest thing you’ll see all day.

The touching note, written on the back of a restaurant receipt, tells of how the unnamed man pays tribute to his brother Wes,  by eating his favourite meal of hot dogs on his birthday every year.

He wrote: ‘Today is my brother’s b-day. He would have been 36 today. Every year I go eat his favorite meal (Hot Dogs) and tip the waitress his age. Happy B-Day Wes.’

The tribute, which was received almost 160,000 views, was posted online by a fellow diner, who explained: ‘This guy sat in my section tonight & left a note on the back of his receipt’.

Not only is this a brilliant tribute, it’s also a very generous one – we’re sure that the waitress was pretty happy with a $36 tip.
