Happy first Martian birthday Curiosity Rover – nearly its second birthday in Earth years

The curiosity rover has now spent a Martian year on the red planet which is 687 earth days.

The robot explorer’s main goal was to find out whether the Martian landscape was ever habitable, something it achieved early on in its mission.

The intrepid cyborg is now on its way to Mount Sharp in the Martian Gale crater where the Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory hope it will discover more information regarding the major climate changes in Mars’ history.
