IFA 2016: 9 of the best computers, laptops and tablets: Asus, Acer, Lenovo and Huawei

Lenovo wowed everybody when the wraps were taken off its innovative new stylus, the Yoga Book. But elsewhere at IFA 2016 we’ve seen some of tech’s biggest players announce updates to old favourites.

This is a rolling guide to our pick of the best new devices, so check back regularly as we’ll update it over the next few days.

9. Asus Transformer 3 Pro

asus-transformer-book-proWith its integrated 170-degree adjustable kickstand, and Transformer Cover keyboard, Asus’ new 2-in-1 looks a lot like the Surface Pro 4. However it differs from its Microsoft counterpart just enough to make it a compelling option for those looking for a hybrid.

At 8.35mm it’s a whisper thinner, plus there’s the option to add a multitude of accessories to further expand its wheelhouse, like the Universal Dock, Audio Pod, and ROG XG Station for dedicated graphics.

The ability to add desktop-grade graphics is the real boon here. The dock supports up to a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 GPU, that’s powerful enough to get you on the virtual reality ladder.

In display-terms it’s been furnished with a 12.6in panel with 3K resolution. Inside you can go up to an Intel Core i7 processor, along with 16GB of RAM, plus a maximum of fast 1TB PCIex4 SSD storage.

Prices will start at around £800 for a lesser i5 model, you can expect that to climb steadily to around £1,400 for the full package.
