Is this the worst attempt to catfish someone that the internet has ever seen?

Spare a thought for the internet creep behind this lame attempt to catfish somebody.

In case you didn’t know, ‘catfish’ is when a person sets up a fake online profile to talk to somebody – there’s a whole film and MTV series dedicated to it.

Perhaps the person behind this poor excuse needs to catch up on a few episodes because their catfish game is weak.

Rule number one in catfishing is to trick your target. This person failed spectacularly at that, because they used the profile picture of somebody their target, Natalie, knows – and already has on Facebook.

Can we get a slow clap?

Here’s how the conversation went down:

As you can see, Natalie wasn’t exactly hoodwinked by “Mark Dalton’s” convincing small talk.

Also – there were no flowers.

How rude.

Wow, hold on a second. Fake Mark is single.

What a surprisingly development, anyone would have thought this guy would have been snapped up in a heartbeat.

Form an orderly queue ladies.

Natalie soon found herself falling for fake Mark’s wit and charm.

LOL, just kidding.

Fake Mark is just complimenting her guys, can’t you see?

Gawd… can’t a person just set up an extremely creepy false profile just to be nice to a girl nowadays?

What’s the world coming to?

Good luck on your next adventure Fake Mark.
