A rabbi has defended the actions of ‘immature’ students who posted pictures of a version of beer pong called ‘Jews vs Nazis’.

The picture was submitted to Reddit over a year ago by a user known as TrepidaciousFatGuy, but has only recently been making the rounds on Twitter after a profile popular among Florida high schools got hold of the image.

It features two sets of cups laid out – one in the shape of a swastika and the other a Star of David.

However, Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz of the Chabad Lubavitch, in south-west Florida, told Fox4 said: ‘As a rabbi, I like to look at the world as a beautiful place.

‘My first assumption is let’s assume it’s just children that are immature with no ill intent, not trying to be malicious.’

Nevertheless, he added: ‘This is a wake up call. We are not doing enough of a job educating people to be nicer, kinder, more polite.’

Traditionally, beer pong cups are arranged in triangles, with players having to a throw a ball towards their opponents’ cups.

If a ball lands in a cup their opponent has to drink the contents and the cup is removed.

Rules vary considerably, with location and sobriety often dictating the nature of the game.
