There has been rather a lot of controversy about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s costly kitchen renovations, but revelations from TV cook Rachel Khoo might change all of that.

Because in a recent interview Rachel, who is best known for her show The Little Paris Kitchen, has claimed that Kate has been polishing up on her kitchen technique. She told the Woman magazine: ‘Kate was in my class [at Leiths]…. she was a lovely person, but she kept herself to herself.’

Leiths school of food and wine is a highly respected West London-based cookery school, which boasts former alumni including Gizzi Erskine and Lorraine Pascale.

As you’d imagine courses there aren’t cheap, and the two-week course which Kate Middleton and Rachel Khoo took costs £1,600.

With not one but three kitchens currently being renovated and kitted out with all the latest state-of-the-art gadgetry (including a £15,000 Sub-Zeor & Wolf fridge freezer and £8,000 Wolf oven), it’s a relief to know that the Duchess of Cambridge has some flash recipes up her sleeve.

Rachel also let slip that Kate had missed some of the course as she was feeling unwell.

She told Woman magazine: ‘Kate was ill for a few days, so I took notes for her’.

This will only fuel rumours that she may be expecting a brother or sister for Prince George
