Limited edition Lamborghini supercar bursts into flames on A41

Nice car, right? Guess what happened next...
Ooh fancy! (Picture: )

Ooh nice car.

Or at least it was.

In case you’re not familiar with your Italian supercars, this is a Lamborghini.

And not just any old bog standard run-of-the-mill Lamborghini, oh no. This is a limited edition Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (which we thought was the name of Pizza Express’ low-fat pizza range. Apparently not).

Unsurprisingly these bad boys aren’t cheap. In fact, if you’re looking to buy one (and why the hell not, eh?) it’ll set you back nearly £150k.

So what you probably don’t want to happen is for the bloody thing to burst into flames as you’re driving it down the A41 in Hertfordshire.

This Lamborghini driver had a lucky escape when the limited edition supercar he was was driving was gutted by fire. See SWNS story SWLAMBO; Emergency services rushed to reports a car had gone up in flames on a busy dual-carriageway. When they arrived they found a rare Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera had been almost entirely wrecked during the inferno. Both the driver and passenger managed to pull over and escape the Italian car without suffering any injuries. The incident took place on Saturday morning on the A41 near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire.

But that’s exactly what happened to one poor sod/ massive show-off (delete where appropriate) last week.

Amazingly both the driver and passenger managed to escape unharmed, but as you can see, by the time the emergency services arrived the Lambo was a little, well, charred.

Think we’ll be sticking with the pizzas, ta.
