Listen to Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5’s complete soundtrack (Wired UK)

As long as there have been Tony Hawk’s skateboarding games, there have been killer soundtracks to go with them. With the series set to return in October with the fifth core instalment, publisher Activision has revealed the full tracklist for the newest entry.

The series has long set a tradition for blending punk, rock, hip-hop, and metal into its musical presence, and the new game is no exception. Pro Skater 5 offers a mix of classic and contemporary songs, from artists as diverse as heavy rockers Killer be Killed and dubstep icon Skrillex. Ratatat’s Cream on Chrome adds a touch of synth-powered indie cred, while Connie Price and the Keystones’ International Hustler blends smooth funk influences with rap to brilliant effect.

The soundtrack has a few surprises in the mix too, such as Keep on Knocking by Death. The band was formed in the 1970s group and presaged the punk movement, but would fail to gain wide recognition themselves until recent years.

That’s a lot of music to get through but — and you’re welcome — has created a playlist of all 32 songs for your listening pleasure. There is one exception though: Ratt Black’s Skate Rock doesn’t appear to have been officially uploaded to YouTube, so we’ve substituted a live performance.

The full, 32-strong tracklist that will be accompanying you as you shred around the world’s greatest skateparks come 2 October is as follows:
