According to Le Figaro, the Louvre Abu Dhabi will borrow around 300 artworks from 13 major French museums over the next decade. These institutions include the Musée d’Orsay, the Centre Pompidou, the Musée Guimet, and the Louvre.
Manuel Rabaté, CEO of Agence France-Muséums, told Le Figaro that each work will be loaned to the Louvre’s UAE outpost (set to open December 2015) for a period of approximately one year. The specifics of the loans will be announced at the end of this year.
