Wildlife authorities in Alaska are seeking a man who dressed as a bear – to scare an actual bear.
Apparently, the grizzly botherer’s costume was pretty realistic, even down to the head and face.
He used the costume to sneak up on a bear and two cubs who were minding their own business fishing for salmon in the Chikoot River, near Haines.
The man managed to get about almost five feet from the animals and begun to jump up and down.
Alaska Fish and Game officials said it was unclear what the guy was actually trying to achieve.
On-site technician Lou Cenicola moved the female bear away for the man’s safety and then tried to reason with him.
The man refused to identify himself, but it’s reported he shouted: ‘you have the license plate number. You figure it out.’
Amazingly, this isn’t even the first time this type of thing has happened in the area.
In 2011, Alaska State Troopers arrested a man in a bear costume who was carrying nunchucks and acting aggressively.
