Man wanted by police in connection with the murders of his sister and mother

Images of a mother and daughter who were murdered have been released as police search for their family member.

Bernadette Fox, 57, and her daughter Sarah Fox, 27, were found dead within hours of each other at two separate addresses in Bootle, Merseyside.

Now police are searching for the son and brother of the victims, 26-year-old Peter Fox, who they believe to have travelled to the London area.

Their family say they are ‘absolutely devastated at their loss’ and are struggling to come to terms with their deaths.

Merseyside Police said Mrs Fox died of asphyxiation, while her daughter was repeatedly stabbed.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Rooney said: ‘I would appeal to Peter to come forward so that we can speak to him following the murders of his mother and sister.

‘We believe that Peter could possibly be in the London area and are working with the Metropolitan Police to try and find him.’

He added: ‘I would like to reassure residents who live in the Bootle area where these addresses are located that we have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance and support.’
