A man who was charged with hiding a camera in his ex-girlfriend’s shower claimed he was filming some chickens that he was washing, prosecutors say.
Terrill Frank Stoltz, 41, appeared in court on Monday on a count of surreptitious visual observation or recordation in a residence, a misdemeanor that carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a $500 fine.
But when asked by his ex-girlfriend why there was a camera in her shower, Stoltz claimed he had put it there in order to watch chickens.
‘He [said he] had installed the camera the previous day to watch chickens he was cleaning in the bathtub and forgot to remove it,’ prosecutors said.
Stoltz also faces a criminal mischief charge alleging he damaged the inside of a hot water closet while making the hole to hide the camera, the court heard.
He is expected in court for arraignment on 5 December.
