Microsoft planning an Xbox announcement for January

Now this is intriguing – Microsoft has scheduled an event for January 21st to talk about the consumer side of what we can expect from Windows 10… and also some news on Xbox One too.

According to the Daily Express, which is uncharacteristically not writing about immigrants or statins, Xbox boss Phil Spencer tweeted “Before this gen is over we’ll see next gen tech (not just gfx, phys etc) from lots of companies” and how “game innovation is strong”.

Windows 10 is known to have an Xbox gaming section enabling users to view their Xbox Live profiles, gamerscores and achievements and so on. The speculation is that we could see an official announcement of the streaming service we heard rumoured last week.

We’ll keep you posted.
