Two teenagers escaped with minor cuts when their car somersaulted and became impaled on a concrete post.
They were inside the black Renault Clio which finished on its roof after the high-speed crash.
Residents of Milton, Stoke-on-Trent, found the pair dangling from their belts in the front seats.
Milkman Clifford Beeton, 55, saw the crash as he was doing his round on Monday.
‘I was taking a break and eating a banana when the car zoomed past me at 70mph,’ he said.
‘It was like a scene out of a James Bond movie – the car seemed to fly through the air in slow motion.
‘I was convinced whoever was in the car must be dead but as I approached the car the two lads in the front seats were dangling upside down by their belts.
‘They managed to free themselves and stumble away. It was a miracle anyone survived.’
An 18-year-old male was later arrested.
