What a view! (Picture: easyjet)

We’re 99.9 per cent sure that THIS is the best photo of today’s solar eclipse.

Magical, isn’t it? Shame most of us were stuck under a thick layer of cloud and anger when the moon passed over the sun this morning.

But passengers aboard this easyJet flight to Iceland were treated to spectacular scenes.

Pilots took detours between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean to get a glimpse.

The above photo was taken from the flight deck of easyjet EZY1805 from Manchester to Reykjavik.

Flight lingers to watch the eclipse (Picture: FlightRadar)

A different flight to Iceland, from Belfast, shows where the plane lingered so everyone on board could watch the spectacle.

Many of missed out on seeing the big moment because of the weather (typical!) – with the next ‘deep’ partial eclipse visible in the UK not due until August 12 2026, and the next total eclipse not until September 2090.
