You never have to worry about your phone’s battery going flat again, as long as have your pants on.
Now you can wear a pair of trousers that comes equipped with a wireless phone charger, taking wearable technology to a whole new level.
English fashion designer Adrien Sauvage collaborated with Microsoft and Nokia to create the strides. To charge your Lumia phone, you just slip it into a special front pocket.
Woven into the pocket is the new Nokia DC-50 wireless charging plate, which grants the wearer the ability to charge a phone by simply placing it into the pocket without the worry of having to plug it in.
This technology has inductive charging, which uses an electromagnetic field to transfer electricity between two objects – in this case, the pocket and your phone.
The wireless charger can be charged with a standard Micro USB cable, holding the charge until the pants are activated.
Microsoft said that the trousers would soon be available for pre-order at Amazon. No price has been set, but Sauvage told the Daily Telegraph that the trousers would cost, “over £200”.
Of course, this does beg the question – are the pants machine-washable?
