PC David McManus, has been arrested after a woman reported seeing a man looking under cubicles in the communal changing rooms at an Oldham swimming pool.
A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said of the situation: ‘The 43-year-old man was arrested following a complaint about inappropriate behaviour at the Chadderton Well-Being Centre on 11 July 2014.
‘The officer was arrested at the Bootle Street police station in Manchester where he works.
‘The man has been bailed pending further inquiries and placed on restricted duties by Greater Manchester Police’s Professional Standards Branch, who have commenced an investigation.’
McManus is being represented by the Greater Manchester Police Federation who look after the lower ranks in such investigations.
The federation spokesman declined to comment on the allegations stating it was inappropriate to comment while an investigation was ongoing.
