Thames Lens Winner: Dare you! by Cairis Grant-Hickey

The winners of the Thames Lens Photography award have been announced. Photographers were asked to take pictures that captured the vibrancy of the ┬ácapital’s river. Above is the winner of the overall competition, Dare you! by Cairis Grant-Hickey.

It was taken in Woolwich, and the capturing of urban decay truly makes it stand out from the crowd.

Take a look at some of the runners-up and winners of different individual awards below. They all manage to show off a different facet of the Thames.

Thames Lens Runner-up: The Tour Bus by Peter Murrell

Each photo focuses on different parts of the Thames instead of just the obvious tourist-magnet locations.

Port of London Authority Winner: Paddles Ahoy! by John Clare
London Photo Festival Highly Commended: Buble Fun II by Britta Baumann

The award is run between the Thames Festival Trust, Port of London Authority and the London Photo Festival.
