Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ to cost from £750 as it looks to rival iPhone 6 Plus

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ will cost from £750

Samsung has revealed the pricing for its Galaxy S6 Edge+ phablet, with the 32GB version costing a titanic £749 while the 64GB model is an even more expensive £829.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is a phablet version of the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone, featuring the same curved Super AMOLED screen but upscaled to 5.7in, with overall dimensions of 154x76x6.9mm.

The resolution, 2560×1440, stays the same, resulting in a slightly lower 518ppi on the Galaxy S6 Edge+. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ also features 64-bit octa-core processor, comprised of four 2.1GHz cores and four 1.5GHz cores, along with 4GB of RAM, one gigbyte more than the Galaxy S6 Edge.

A 16MP rear camera and 5MP front camera are also included.

The Galaxy S6 edge+ will be available to pre-order from 18 August and available to buy in the UK from 4 September.

The device was unveiled by Samsung last week at events held simultaneously in London and New York, where the Note 5 was also shown off.

The Galaxy Note 5 is the successor to the Galaxy Note 4. It shares the latter’s 5.7in, 2560×1440 Super AMOLED display and 16MP rear camera, but adds a 5MP front-facing camera and the same octa-core processor as in the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

RAM is also bumped up to 4GB on the Galaxy Note 5, which measures in at 153x76x7.6mm – a full 9mm thinner than the Galaxy Note 4.

The Galaxy Note 5 also includes an S-Pen stylus, which can be slotted into the bottom of the device and is released with a spring-loaded “push to pop” mechanism.

However, at present there appears not intention to bring the Note 5 to the UK.

Both devices run the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop version, and will support wireless charging to both Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and Power Matters Alliance (PMA) standards.
