‘Slender Man’ Stabbing Victim Out Of Hospital

A 12-year-old girl who police say was stabbed 19 times by two classmates who were trying to please a mythical demon-like character has been released from hospital.

The girl was stabbed repeatedly in the attack and left lying in the woods.

She managed to crawl to a nearby road where a cyclist found her lying on the pavement.

Police say the two girls, who have been charged as adults with first-degree attempted homicide, told detectives they wanted to kill the girl in the hope of pleasing Slender Man, a fictional bogeyman.

The girl was released from Waukesha Memorial Hospital in Wisconsin on Friday.

Doctors have said the girl was lucky to be alive because the knife used in the attack narrowly missed a major artery.

In a statement her family said: “She is excited to be out of the hospital, see her pets and continue along the road to recovery.

“Our family is extremely grateful for the outpouring of support and love from not only the local community, but from around the nation, and the world.”

The victim’s parents said they had only discussed the stabbing with their daughter briefly.

They said they had asked her how she found the strength to crawl out of the woods.

“Her response was simple: ‘I wanted to live,’” the statement said.

Police have not named the victim, and her parents have asked her friends to not reveal her identity.

Anthony Cotton, an attorney for one of the girls charged, said he will try to get the girl’s case moved to juvenile court, where more social services and mental health treatment would be available for her.

The two girls face up to 60 years in prison if they are convicted.

According to Know Your Meme, which tracks internet trends, Slender Man originated in 2009 during a competition on a web forum to create spooky images.

The mythical creature went viral, and is often depicted as a tall, thin, blank-faced figure wearing a black suit.
