Crash dieting and staying up all night, every night – it gets to all of us in the end.

For the moon, this lifestyle would have led you to assume the satellite was younger than it ravaged surface suggested.

However according to new research, the moon is actually 4.47 billion-years-old, 60 million years older than previously thought.

The moon is believed to have been formed after a Mars-size planet, known as Theia, collided with earth.

One thing we can say for the moon, it has never lied about its age.

Unlike an american TV actress, Riley Weston, who had claimed she was 19 to get on-screen work before being found out she was actually 32.

You’ve got to feel sorry for the moon, it was last visited by astronauts in 1972, it has just found it is millions of years older and only drunken gap year students on Thai beaches celebrate it.

All in all, considering it gives us waves and lights up the night sky, we, humankind, should show it some more love.
