A tearful mother has been reunited with the pet she feared had died in a fire at Manchester Dogs’ Home.

A video showed the moment Dawn Bradbury saw her dog Leo, two, for the first time since the blaze on Thursday, which killed 53 dogs.

The bichon fries was waiting to be picked up by the 29-year-old after it went missing at the beginning of the week.

‘I have been awake all night and haven’t slept. I spent all night down at the dogs’ home to try and locate him, it was horrendous,’ she told The Telegraph.

‘The kids were all over him when we got him back. We are absolutely delighted.’

Meanwhile, people wanting to donate supplies to Manchester Dogs’ Home have been told to stay away from its sister site in Warrington, Cheshire, after they gridlocked the M6 trying to get there.

A 15-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of starting the blaze has since been released on bail.
