Gunmen have stormed a luxury hotel in Mali.
Shooters have attacked a Radisson Blu hotel in the centre of the country’s capital, Bamako.
They are believed to be holding hostages.
Automatic weapon fire could be heard from outside the 190-room hotel, according to reports.
‘Very early in the morning there was gunfire. Apparently it’s an attempt to take hostages,’ a security source said.
‘The police are there and are sealing off the area.’
Witnesses at the scene said attackers arrived in a diplomatic vehicle, and are now ‘walking quietly’ around seven stories of the hotel.
‘It’s happening on the seventh floor, the jihadists are now shooting in the corridor,’ security sources added.
Some reports suggest three people have been killed
The hotel is said to be popular with expats in the country
A march through Bamako yesterday honoured the 129 people killed last week in an Isis-led terrorist attack on Paris.
