A woman was arrested after allegedly stealing more than $6,400 (£4,070)-worth of sausages from a premium-smoked sausage company.

Regina Shaw, 45, was caught on surveillance camera by the Kiolbassa Provision Company struggling to heave a ‘pallet of meat product’ from the building.

And Shaw, who was later arrested and charged with felony theft, was found to have taken more than $6,400 of sausage, a portion of which she fenced.

The fence, identified as Peter Medellin, also said he had accepted some sausage as payment for a loan he had given Shaw.

Police have not yet specified how Shaw managed to make her getaway with the meat.

The 45-year-old, who worked for the Kiolbassa Provision Company in San Antonio, Texas, was fired from her job.
