On Saturday 20 September, Matt Brown (Londonist editor-at-large) and Peter Berthoud (Westminster guide and historian) offer up their favourite strange and fantastic tales of the Thames. In a game of ‘oddity ping-pong’, they’ll take it in turns to present curious and little-known exploits from the river’s past alongside intriguing illustrations. Come along armed with your own Thames trivia and plenty of questions for these incurable London obsessives.

This is just one of six fascinating Londonist river-themed events being presented aboard ‘Dazzle Ship’ HMS President on 20-21 September during Totally Thames. Come for one session, or stay for the whole day. Whichever you do, fingers crossed for fine weather so we can all sit up on deck with a drink after.

Thames Oddities, 20 September 2014, 2.30-4pm as part of Londonist Afloat: Terrific Tales of the Thames. Tickets are £7.50 per session, or £15 for the day ticket, which includes entry to three talks.

Londonist is proud media partner to Totally Thames,.
