ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHY: Learn about the art of calligraphy and why it’s so important to Islam, from Dr Nassar Mansour, one of the most distinguished contemporary calligraphers. The talk at Asia House is followed by a demonstration. £7, book in advance, 7.30pm

VICTOR VICTORIA: 80s musical film Victor Victoria starring Julie Andrews and set in 1935 is being screened at Regent Street Cinema. Continue the Prohibition theme at the after party at Arts Theatre Club. £12, book in advance, 8pm
