We kid you not.

Virtual reality has been one of the most sought-after technologies for quite some time, and for good reason. Putting aside the entertainment possibilities, virtual reality has a number of potential applications in the enterprise. For example how cool would it be if, rather than dialling into a meeting, you could simply slap on a headset and feel like you were physically attending the meeting?

As a result we couldn’t help but get a little excited by Samsung’s Gear VR headset. Developed in partnership with virtual reality powerhouse Oculus and powered by Samsung’s newly unveiled Galaxy Note 4, the Gear VR offers similar functionality to the Oculus rift, but comes loaded with a wealth of bonus top-end technologies. One of the best of these is its Super Amoled interface.

According to Samsung the Gear VR’s Quad HD Super Amoled interface is the most advanced seen on any virtual-reality headset and will offer users 96-degree viewing angles and the same viewing experience as a 175in display. If true this could be one 2014’s trend-setting devices.
