The wave of announcements has made keeping track of the smartphones on the horizon a tricky task for even the most avid technology enthusiast.

We’ve created a top 10 list detailing which smartphones you should be keeping your eye on.

10. The BlackBerry Leap
blackberry-leapIt’s no secret that former enterprise heavyweight BlackBerry has been having a tough time in recent years, with big players including Apple, Samsung and Microsoft all working to wrestle control of the business smartphone market.

However, this year the company has shown signs of life and posted a Q4 profit. The BlackBerry Leap is designed to continue this turnaround and is listed by BlackBerry as the ultimate business smartphone.

In terms of hardware the Leap is reasonably well armed by BlackBerry standards. The Leap comes with a 5in 1280×720 HD touchscreen, 4G LTE network support and a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM 8960 processor with 2GB RAM.

However, it’s the Leap’s security focused BlackBerry 10.3.1 operating system that makes it interesting.

Offering a new user interface, robust encryption and management features and the BlackBerry Assistant voice command service, the Leap looks like it could be one of the safest options for any business handling sensitive data.

BlackBerry has yet to reveal when the Leap will arrive in the UK or how much it will cost.
