What happens when you put a pair of Kanye West Yeezy trainers worth £3k next to a sleeping homeless man

What would you do if you saw a pair of sold-out Kanye West Yeezy trainers worth around $5,000 (£3000) lying casually next to a sleeping homeless man?

This was the question posed by prankster Yousef Erakat in his Kanye West Yeezys Experiment and the video, which has now been viewed by over 2.5 million people on YouTube, makes for pretty uncomfortable viewing.

Bear in mind these £220 red kicks sold out in 11 minutes when they were released in February this year and are now available on eBay for between £3000 and £5000.

There were even reports of a pair selling for an unbelievable £10m on eBay shortly after they sold out (we can’t actually believe that’s true though).

But, still, it’s pretty shocking just how many guys in the video felt completely absolved in stealing them, purely because he was a homeless guy. The implication clearly being they think they deserve some nice designer pumps more than him.

One guy seems to debate what to do with a friend on his phone: ‘Shall I take them or no?’, before attempting to make off with them.

Another remonstrates with a girl who tries to stop him taking them, reasoning: ‘He probably stole them’.

A third would-be thief tells the ‘homeless’ victim he thought he’d just use them to sell on for alcohol.

And the real kicker? The Yeezys used in the experiment were actually fakes, sorry guys.
