One little girl, on hearing last week her father had terminal cancer, wanted to take her father on holiday to Disneyland Paris ‘before the angels took him away.’

Five-year-old Ruby Myles sadly did not have enough pocket money to take her 42-year-old father, Damian Myles, but luckily for the local community stepped in.

The Wellington Pub in Southport got behind Ruby and helped create a fundraising campaign and organised a Disney princess themed party to let the young family know they had week long tickets to the Paris resort.

Annie McTaggart, who runs the pub, told the Southport Visiter: ‘The day was just so emotional, they are such a lovely family and Damian is one of the nicest men you can meet.

‘He has just constantly been saying ‘why are you helping me, there are others with cancer.’

In just a week, the pub were able to raise £4,130 but needed a little over £1,000 to pay off the holiday.

A charitable businessman came to the rescue and loaned the money allowing the holiday to go ahead before Mr Myles’ condition deteriorated.

Watch below the video of the Disney princesses singing to Ruby as the little girl is informed about her trip of a lifetime with her special dad.
